Ben Affleck opened his “SNL” monologue about hosting for the fifth time, and joining the “Five Timers Club.”

He then talked about how he controversially said during his Oscars acceptance speech that his marriage to Jennifer Garner “is work.”

Affleck then invited his wife onstage to explain that that’s simply ”a way that we talk.”

After saying she was “not sure why you needed to share it with a billion people,” Garner noted she felt Affleck should’ve said, “Our marriage is a gift.”

Garner then added that, of course, she’s the one “who does all the work.”

Actress Jennifer Garner, who grew up in Charleston, made plenty of appearances during the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Garner was interviewed on the Red Carpet, was a presenter during the ceremony and received a prominent ‘thank you’ from her famous husband.

Garner wore a purple Gucci gown custom-made especially for her. During the awards ceremony, she presented the nominees for Best Foreign Language Film.

Her husband, Ben Affleck, whose film ‘Argo’ was up for Best Picture, took daughter Violet to a spelling bee before the awards ceremony.

“It was mayhem at our house. Our daughter was in a spelling bee at the local rec center,” Garner told E! News on the red carpet. “I was in hair and makeup so I couldn’t take her, so Ben took her in the middle of everything.”

She continued, “She won! Our family has already had a great day, so congratulations to our sweetie. And then she had a basketball game. Life goes on. No one really cares! It’s just all about trying to keep the dogs and kids from getting stuff on the stuff.”

Affleck’s ‘Argo’ wound up winning Best Picture. He thanked Garner in his speech.

“I want to thank you for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases,” Affleck said. “It’s good, it is work, but it’s the best kind of work. There’s no one I’d rather work with.”
