D23 Expo 2011 Report: Jennifer Garner Discusses ‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green’
21 August, 2011 · Posted by under Movies · 3 Comments

After the release of the trailer for “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” earlier this month, many fans wanted to know a little more about this magical family film.

At D23 Expo 2011 in Anaheim, actress Jennifer Garner appeared on stage to express her feelings about the film.

“I feel for this story,” she said. “On how magical it is. On how real. And [on how] we will all relate to this [movie].”

She further explained people will enjoy the film about parenting, especially for those who are already parents or are going to be on some day.

The film stars Garner (“Alias,” “Juno”), Joel Edgerton (“King Arthur,” “Kinky Boots”), Cameron Adams (“Dan in Real Life”), Ron Livingston (“Office Space,” “Swingers”) and Rosemarie DeWitt (“Cinderella Man,” “United States of Tara”).

“The Odd Life of Timothy Green” is about a childless couple, unable to conceive, buries all their wishes for a baby in a box in their backyard. One day, they wake up to find that a child is born, but the child is not all that it appears.

The film is directed by Peter Hedges (“What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” “Dan in Real Life”).

“The Odd Life of Timothy Green” will be released in theaters next year on August 15.

The presentation concluded with Garner introducing the trailer again to the D23 audience.

Sneak peek: ‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green’
8 August, 2011 · Posted by under Movies · No Comments

In the tradition of E.T. and Benjamin Button, a new bit of movie magic is about to be sprinkled on an American family.

When The Odd Life of Timothy Green opens in August 2012, audiences will meet Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), a couple who have reached a point of despair: They can’t conceive. During a wine-fueled night, the Greens dream up their ideal offspring. He would score a winning goal, just once. He’d be honest to a fault. “Picasso with a pencil,” Cindy wishes.

Soon, a 10-year-old arrives at their doorstep, claiming the Greens as his own.

“He’s a boy with the qualities that his parents hope for,” says director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life), but “those qualities manifest in ways they never could have imagined.”

Disney is keeping the boy’s origin under wraps, but the Greens “get nothing more, nothing less” than what they wished for, Garner reveals. “He doesn’t have any emotional memories. He’s completely naïve to the way the world works … someone who’s honest to a fault is called honest to a fault for a reason.”

Garner understands her character’s yearning. “There’s no deeper want for a woman” than to be a mother, says the Hollywood mom, whose two young daughters visited the Georgia set daily in late winter with husband Ben Affleck.

In the film, the Greens must quickly adjust to parenting. It was Hedges’ experience with two teen sons that inspired him to adapt the story by producer Ahmet Zappa for the screen. “I wanted to make a film about what it means to be a parent in the 21st century,” he says.

Timothy Green puts the title role spotlight on young actor C.J. Adams, whom Hedges cast in 2007′s Dan in Real Life. And Edgerton is set to have a blockbuster 2012: He soon enters F. Scott Fitzgerald territory as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. Next year, “Joel Edgerton is an actor who everyone is going to be talking about,” Hedges says.

But in the world of Timothy Green, a year’s time is all too precious. The new family is “acutely aware of the passing of time,” Hedges says ominously. “We all only get our children for a very short period of time.”

The Odd Life of Timothy Green Trailer
6 August, 2011 · Posted by under Movies · No Comments

A first trailer for Disney’s fantasy movie “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” has arrived on the web. The video opens with a scene where Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton meet a supposed obstetrician and they’re told that they might never have any child. “We had explored every medical options,” so the doctor desperately said.

In their desperation, the childless couple then make a wish list of what they want their ideal future kid to be. They lock their list inside a box before burying it in their backyard. One day, the husband and wife wake up and find a strange child named Timothy Green, but the child is not all that he appears.

Directed and written by Peter Hedges, “Timothy Green” is based on a story by Ahmet Zappa. The film is also starring Ron Livingston, Rosemarie DeWitt and Dianne Wiest. This family movie is expected to arrive in theaters across the U.S. sometime in 2012.

Rockwell in negotiations for ‘Better Living’
20 July, 2011 · Posted by under Movies · No Comments

Sam Rockwell is in negotiations to star opposite Jennifer Garner in Occupant Films’ darkly comedic thriller “Better Living Through Chemistry.”
Rockwell will play a meek, small-town pharmacist stuck in a loveless marriage who rediscovers himself by starting an affair with a trophy wife, to be played by Garner. After she introduces him to the pleasures of prescription drugs, things spin out of control when they begin plotting to kill her husband.

Michelle Monaghan is set to co-star as Rockwell’s wife, while Judi Dench will serve as the film’s narrator.

Geoff Moore and David Posamentier, whose script appeared on the most recent Black List, will make their directorial debut with the indie pic, which was previously slated to star Jeremy Renner.

Occupant’s Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino are producing “Chemistry,” which ICM is handling North American rights for.

Rockwell recently starred in “Conviction” and “Iron Man 2.” He’ll soon be seen in Jon Favreau’s “Cowboys & Aliens” and David Gordon Green’s Jonah Hill comedy “The Sitter,” which 20th Century Fox releases Dec. 9.
