Jennifer Garner is causing excitement in tiny Shaker Heights, Ohio. The Cleveland suburb has been protective of the star, who’s filming “Draft Day” with Kevin Costner, says an insider, with a police car stationed on her block and a sign at the library reminding people to not take pictures. Garner has been spotted several times at Ben & Jerry’s near the John Carroll University campus and, we’re told, has been friendly to neighbors, telling them she’s using her time there to let her kids learn how to ride bikes.

Matt Damon is going all out this weekend.

The actor and his wife of eight years, Luciana, plan to renew their wedding vows this weekend in the Caribbean and they have rented out the entire Sugar Beach resort on the isle of Saint Lucia to the tune of $600,000, E! News exclusively confirms.

A caravan of SUVs was seen ferrying people from a private airfield to the hotel, where, according to local authorities, there is an increased security presence.

The guest list includes best Damon bud Ben Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Garner, and there are whisperings that George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie possible received invites as well (though Brad’s due at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, so he may have had to regretfully decline).

A private plane linked to Catherine Zeta-Jones, whose hubby Michael Douglas stars with Damon in the upcoming HBO film Behind the Candelabra, has arrived on the island. Stanley Tucci, whose sister-in-law is close Damon pal Emily Blunt, is also in the area.

Reports that the local beach has been closed due to the festivities are not true, Officer Defreitas of the St. Lucia Police Station in Soufriere tells E! News. But he says, “the hotel is what is closed down” for an event that will continue through midday Sunday. (more…)

Jennifer could be the new face of MaxMara. The actress is reported to have shot an advertising campaign for the Italian fashion house.

MaxMara has so far declined to comment – neither confirming nor denying the speculation. According to WWD, Garner was photographed recently for the brand, but the exact nature of the shoot has yet to be confirmed.

If true, this would mark a significant departure from the norm for the house. While it has worked closely with many actresses as ambassadors in the past – such as Katie Holmes, Hailee Steinfeld and Chloe Moretz – this has generally been in connection with its Women in Film fashion award, preferring to cast models in its advertising campaigns.

The appointment would mark Garner’s first major fashion partnership.

After the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school, a number of Hollywood A-Listers have come together in a campaign, hoping for a change in American gun laws.

The minute and a half public service announcement against gun violence is called ‘Demand A Plan’ after Adam Lanza, 20, shot 20 school children and six adults including his mother, before turning the gun on himself in Newtown Connecticut, last Friday.

The black and white clip includes: Jamie Foxx, Gwyneth Paltrow, Michelle Williams, Selena Gomez, Chris Rock, Jon Hamm, Julianne Moore & many others stars ask “How many more colleges? How many more classrooms? How many more houses of faith?” before stricter laws are put into place about guns.

The stars are hoping that the heart tugging plea will make Americans demand a change from President Barack Obama and Congress.

The stars read a list of 31 similar attacks to Sandy Hook that have taken place in America since the Columbine US shooting in 1999, hoping to prevent any further tragedies happening.

EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Garner‘s Vandalia Films has signed a first-look deal with Universal Television. The first project to come out of the pact is an untitled comedy from writer Ellen Rapoport, which has sold to NBC.

Rapoport will write the semi-autobiographical comedy, which was put together by Television 360 (Game Of Thrones), the TV division of Management 360. It tells the story of Allie, a nerdy, twentysomething overachiever who is befriended and taken in by two promiscuous party girls. They give her the adolescence she never had, while she teaches them how to grow up. Rapoport will executive produce with Television 360?s Daniel Rappaport and Meghan Lyvers and Vandalia’s Garner and Juliana Janes.

Rapoport, repped by CAA and Management 360, is currently rewriting feature The Pool for Chernin and Fox, which Will Speck and Josh Gordon are attached to direct. Her feature spec Desperados landed on the Black List in 2010 and has Mark Gordon producing. On the TV side, she wrote the ABC comedy pilot script Hot Mess last season.

The Ellen Rapoport comedy joins Television 360?s development slate, which includes the CW drama Expectations, written by J. Mills Goodloe and exec produced with Reese Witherspoon; Fox comedy Wendy & Peter, also exec produced by Witherspoon; HBO comedy Royal, written by Nick Schenk and exec produced by Peter Tolan; and Showtime drama The Oath, from Mark Heyman.

Vandalia Films previously had a deal with ABC Studios. On the feature side, the company produced the recently released Butter, starring Garner, Ty Burrell and Olivia Wilde, and is developing the Agatha Christie adaptation Miss Marple at Disney with Mark Frost penning. Garner is with Management 360 and WME.
