It is Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck.

The baby was born Jan. 6 in Los Angeles. Garner and Affleck, both 36, are also parents to daughter Violet, 3.

While no explanation was offered for the name, or if she was named for anyone, one Web site specializing in the origin of names refers to Seraphina as “derived from the Biblical word ‘seraphim,’ which was Hebrew in origin and meant ‘fiery ones.’ “

The star is nine months pregnant with her second child and she and husband Ben Affleck were spotted entering Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday.

Garner was reluctant to reveal she was expecting until she was five months pregnant, but her thrilled mother-in-law and her former Alias co-star Victor Garber let the baby news slip in July.

The actress told People magazine at the time, “It always makes me laugh when people say ‘Is she? Isn’t she?’ It’s like, ‘Eventually you will know, so just chill out for a minute.”

Garner and Affleck have a two-year-old daughter named Violet.

An 80-by-220 foot tent’s already up and volunteers are scrambling over the last-minute details.

Charleston sweetheart Jennifer Garner and her fellow movie star husband Ben Affleck are on their way to “Starry Starry Night,” a University of Charleston fundraiser set for Friday along the Kanawha River.

If you want to rub elbows with Tinseltown’s elite couple, a limited number of tickets remain at $250 a pop or $5,000 for a reserved table of eight.

Garner and Affleck were invited to host the event to raise money for a new, multimillion-dollar athletic complex at the university. The gala will also honor the lives of distinguished alumni Louise and Mario Palumbo.

Crews have been working feverishly all week preparing for the Garner’s arrival and an estimated crowd of 800 people.

A tent went up Tuesday on campus across from the Capitol. In the next few days, workers will install lights and carpeting inside the tent. Table, chairs and decorations will be set up.

“It’s probably the biggest tent you’ve seen in Charleston,” said Jennie Ferretti, university spokeswoman. “It’s almost as big as our football field.”

The university had to go to Skyline Tents of Charlottesville, Va., for the tent. It was transported to Charleston in a tractor-trailer.

“We couldn’t find one big enough in the state,” Ferretti said.

A reception will begin at 6 p.m. in the Erma Byrd Gallery of Riggleman Hall, followed by the fundraising event at 7:30 p.m. outside the university’s riverfront.

Designated parking spots have been reserved for sponsors. General parking may be limited around campus, Ferretti said.

Shuttle services will be available from the Columbia Gas parking lot nearby along MacCorkle Avenue. Shuttles will run every five or 10 minutes throughout the evening.

Event-goers can also opt for a more scenic shuttle – on a horse and carriage from Briar Patch Stables that will transport folks from the Columbia Gas lot to the fundraiser via Kanawha Avenue.

A full gamut of vittles will surely whet anyone’s appetite. The menu includes a fresh-grilled Italian bruschetta station featuring grilled pesto chicken and wild mushroom ragout with black pepper crusted Brie and fresh rosemary.

Other food offerings include sushi, grilled chicken satay, lamb kabobs, rice paper-wrapped salads, ginger-lime marinated shrimp and a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables.

Desserts will include chocolate-dipped fruits, lemon terrine, mocha caramel tartlettes and truffle lollipops.

For live entertainment, event organizers have acquired the services of Big Ray and the Kool Kats, which consists of a four-piece rhythm section, four horn players, and multiple male and female vocalists.

The group was named one of Modern Bride Magazine’s “Best Wedding Bands in America.”

“They do some Sinatra-style singing, as well as more contemporary styles,” Ferretti said. “They’re conducive to dancing under the stars.”

A volunteer committee of 40 people has been organizing the event, she said. In addition, about 90 students are volunteering as well.

Security will also be in full force.

Uniformed and plainclothes officers will be working the evening, said university Chief Jack Rinchich.

Campus officers and police from local agencies will patrol around campus, including a team on the river, Rinchich said.

“It’s not every day you get Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck in here,” he said. “We can’t take any chances. We could deal with potential paparazzi and starstruck people wanting to get in there.”

The university has had to step up security in previous events featuring Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, Vice President Dick Cheney and Erin Brockovich, a legal clerk who had a feature film named after her.

A 36-year veteran of the police force and former Charleston officer, Rinchich said officials have contingency plans in place.

Donations from the event will fund an athletic complex projected to cost at least $20 million. The complex will house the men’s and women’s basketball programs and the volleyball program. It also will include athletic coaching offices, locker rooms for softball and men’s and women’s tennis and training facilities.

A video tribute to the Palumbos will play continuously on large plasma TV screens throughout the evening.

University President Ed Welch, state Delegate Corey Palumbo, who is the son of Mario and Louise Palumbo, and Garner will offer remarks.

Expectant couples Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner and Matt Damon & wife Luciana turned out for a Miami fundraiser Saturday for Barack Obama.

Garner, sporting a small baby bump, looked radiant in a chic short black cocktail dress and sexy high-heeled sandals. Luciana, very pregnant, was decked out in a long black skirt with a strapless tank top.

The couples attended a private $1,000-per-person VIP reception at club SET to support the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate.

After spending orientation time in The Trophy Room, the four friends headed for SET’s Hip Hop Room to socialize with guests before giving speeches from the stage.

“Jennifer Garner gave the first speech supporting Obama, and she was very witty, clever and funny,” says a source at SET. “She was followed by her husband Ben, then Matt Damon. The men gave serious political speeches on how the country needs change.”

The stars drank bottled water and took pictures with the guests.

“They were all in great moods and very friendly to everyone,” says another source, accompanied by a host who plunked down $5,000 for his group to meet the stars and support Obama.

Damon, who has a house in Miami Beach, told reporters outside of SET why he is supporting Obama: “For a lot of reasons. But mostly because I don’t like the path this country’s on and if McCain is elected we’ll be continuing down that same path.”

Also, Affleck told PEOPLE outside of SET that he doesn’t know if he is going to the Democratic Convention, but “I’d like to.”

The Afflecks and Damons departed in a limo after about 90 minutes and headed for a private party at Anthony Kennedy Shriver’s Miami Beach home.

Shriver is the founder and head of Best Buddies charity and first cousin of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, who is a member of the Obama Vice Presidential Nominating Committee.

Several hundred people paid anywhere from $250 to $5,000 for a chance to rub shoulders with Matt Damon, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck.

“It comes down to a simple choice for all of us. If you like the direction the country is going, you should vote for McCain.” Actor Matt Damon was determined to drive the point home, “But if you want a candidate who rejects those policies but has a vision, then Obama’s your guy!” Damon says he was an early supporter.

Jennifer Garner agrees with Damon, “Ultimately I felt inspired by him and I don’t think anyone in our generation has had that experience.”

Whether or not the star power on South Beach brings in the bucks for Obama, Damon downplays celebrity influence on voters.

“I’m not out here trying to change anybody, but I feel he will do a better job leading the country and changing the course we’re on, which has been disastrous.”

We asked voters what they thought. They say it’s not about the people, but about the issues and policies. “It doesn’t really matter to me, but I do respect their views,” one party-goer told us.

“I guess they are looking for a bigger place now,” pal Kevin Smith told PEOPLE at a the Maxim magazine party on Saturday in San Diego where he attended Comic-Con.

The director-actor, who is a longtime friend of Affleck and starred with Garner in 2006′s Catch and Release, also revealed how he learned the news that the couple – who are parents to daughter Violet, 2 – are expecting again.

“I saw him last week. Ben came over to watch my movie (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) at the house, and he told me, ‘We’re having another baby,’” recalls Smith.

He added that parenthood comes naturally to both stars. “[Jen] is such a Martha Stewart type. She is a perfect mom,” he says. “And [Ben] is a great dad, which I found not that surprising, but it’s a side of him that I never thought about before he became a dad. He’s a great father. He loves that kid of his.”
