Jennifer’s kid-friendly birthday bash
19 April, 2010 · Posted by under Miscellaneous · No Comments

Jennifer Garner had quite the bash for her 38th birthday party on Saturday afternoon! “Jen wanted everyone to feel like they could bring their kids, so she didn’t want to have it at night,” a party-goer told RadarOnline.com . Among the guests was her “Juno” co-star Jason Bateman, with his 3-year-old daughter, Francesca; actress Reese Witherspoon; actor Tobey Maguire with his wife, Jennifer, and their 3-year-old daughter Ruby; and model Molly Sims . “Even though there were a bunch of celebs there, it didn’t feel like a Hollywood party at all,” the spy told the Web site. “It just seemed like some friends getting together to celebrate a birthday.”

Hugh Jackman, Alicia Silverstone, Olivia Wilde To Star In ‘Butter’
14 April, 2010 · Posted by under Movies · 2 Comments

Hugh Jackman, Alicia Silverstone and Olivia Wilde have all joined the growing cast of “Butter,” the 2012 comedy by “She’s Out of My League” director Jim Field Smith. The news comes just a week after it was revealed that “Twilight” star Ashley Greene had joined the ensemble cast, which already boasts Jennifer Garner, Rob Corddry and “Modern Family” star Ty Burrell.

“Butter” is set around a butter-sculpting competition in a small Midwestern town. Garner stars as a woman driven to win the competition, like her husband (Burrell) before her. Those plans are disrupted when a newcomer, a young orphan girl (Yara Shahidi), shows exceptional skill in shaping the dairy product.

Movieline broke the news early yesterday that Wilde has been cast as “a tattooed stripper with a Bettie Page hairdo” who is Burrell’s character’s mistress. The actress is poised to have quite the 2010, with lead roles in “Tron Legacy” and the Paul Haggis crime thriller “The Next Three Days,” plus comic-book adaptation “Cowboys vs. Aliens” due out in 2011 and (presumably) a “Tron” sequel or two.

Variety reported that Jackman and Silverstone joined the “Butter” cast as well. Jackman will play a former lover of Garner’s, and Silverstone, who had previously been rumored for Wilde’s stripper part, will instead play the adoptive mother of Shahidi’s character.

Will Jennifer Garner take on another film alias?
8 April, 2010 · Posted by under Movies · 2 Comments

“Alias” fans, take note. Jennifer Garner could keep those multiplex appearances coming, After appearing in the ensemble “Valentine’s Day” and opposite Ricky Gervais in “The Invention of Lying” over the past six months, Garner is getting ready to shoot the lead part in “Butter,” that story of Midwestern country-fair jealousies that she’s also producing.

Now comes word that producers are talking to her for a key part in Ron Howard’s (at-the-moment untitled) movie about cheating. Kevin James, Vince Vaughn and Winona Ryder are already on board for the Universal/Imagine project. So, another sultry beauty in the land of average-seeming guys. But we guess if she could hook up with Gervais, playing alongside these guys should be as easy as, well, butter.
